Business Support Analyst

The Financial Systems team supports a wide number of technical functions within the finance department.  The primary focus of this role is to provide business analysis, assist in the daily support of PeopleSoft, provide functional advice and guidance to users, and assist the team in responding to changes from within the business.


• Provide business analysis for issues and requests related to delivered and custom modules within PeopleSoft.
• Perform functional and technical analysis for integration projects and issues.
• Proactively identify process improvements and gather high level specifications
• Assist in building controls and define business processes to ensure quality of data is maintained
• Assist with team workload including ad-hoc business user requests, testing, training and administration.
• Assist the PeopleSoft Support function with the following:
o Production Support on the following modules*: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Asset Manager, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Client Database (custom), Brokerage (custom), Treasury (custom) and any other modules that are developed or licensed as the business develops
o System maintenance / housekeeping: security, GL structure and trees, auditing controls, reporting templates including nVision and Crystal, sub-module interfacing, balancing checks
o Monitoring the interaction between various source systems and PeopleSoft
o Daily batched procedures
o Security Administration
o Supporting month end and year end processing
• Provide support and development of ad hoc and scheduled reporting using nVision, Crystal, XMLP and Essbase/SmartView
• Ad hoc Business Objects report writing
• Maintain system documentation including documenting current system processes and developing functional specifications based on new system requirements
• Develop test scripts for new functionality and aid in system testing
• Ad hoc projects

Includes shared responsibility for bank holiday batch and production cover

Key Technologies and Skills:

• Minimum 3 years’ PeopleSoft experience in at least 3 of the PeopleSoft Financials modules above.
• A strong team player.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Flexible (i.e. ability to adapt to change/approach to work)
• Ability to prioritise multiple requests for support and deliver solutions quickly and accurately.
• General understanding of Accounting knowledge is highly desirable but not essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and quickly
