Role Summary
To assist in the delivery of Accounting memos, providing technical accounting summaries for the transactions undertaken by the Group. Create and manage the process of putting a reporting framework for these accounting summaries and memos. Interface with senior stakeholders to understand the nature of the transactions and become an effective business partner to senior individuals within the firm. This role would be suitable for a person who is looking forward to understanding and tackling technical accounting questions and challenges, but also enjoying working with and liaising with other team members and other areas of the business to coordinate reporting transactions of higher complexity.
Overall Responsibilities
- Oversee the compliance of the financial statements of the Group with IFRS and local GAAPs.
- Draft the accounting papers for all transactions.
- Assist in the create of the accounting policy framework which will involve the Finance Leadership Team.
- Provide support to auditors and assist in the smooth running of the statutory audit process.
- Assist in the preparation of certain disclosures in consolidated financial statements.
- Work with the legal entity and product control teams to assess where transactions are being booked.
- Assist with the automation of new entities and revenue streams.
- Support firm wide M&A and corporate finance activity.
- Assist with technical accounting research.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Group accounting policies.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant (1-year PQE or more)
- Excellent understanding of IFRS
- Excellent understand of how the accounting standards impacts the day-to-day accounting but also the end financial reporting.
- Understand the distinction between the primary statements and the notes.
- Proficient in other GAAP (FRS 102 in particular).
- Decent understanding of financial markets (exchange traded derivatives, OTC derivatives, structured funding etc).
- Decent understanding of system flows and experience with automation.

- Primary focus of role is on day-to-day deliverables, developing solutions based upon subject expertise and occasionally representing the relevant department at a broader level across the group.
- Provision of professional support to the Management & Oversight of the efficient and effective delivery of all processes and projects within the relevant department and sub-departments.
- Ensure effective delivery of processes and project deliverables to the business and broad Company group.
