Role Summary
A position for a Senior Product Controller with significant experience of Rates derivatives and Fixed Income products. The role is within the Market Making and Treasury Product Control team.
Will be responsible for the production and oversight of global NII P&L reporting, NII forecasting, and all reporting and analyses in respect of the global hedging programmes (CFH, FVH, NIH), plus monthly balance sheet substantiation and monthly and quarterly performance reporting and analyses.
Responsibilities
- Preparation, analysis and reporting of daily NII P&L and accruals
- Preparation of regular forecasts and commentaries
- Ensuring hedged items and instruments in designated relationships are accurately captured and reported, and any ineffectiveness analysed and reported or remediated
- Prepare reports for monthly Global Hedge Committee meetings
- Prepare monthly balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation, ensuring all allocated accounts are fairly represented considering legal entity, completeness, valuation and balance sheet classification
- Prepare analyses and commentary for quarterly returns and for notes to the statutory accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with both key stakeholders both within Finance and across related functions including Treasury, FP&A, Risk and Operations
- Improve efficiency and robustness of processes by understanding non/semi-automated processes, helping to design automated processes and deliver improvement working with relevant technology teams
- Assist in internal and external audit activities
- Ensure all Product Control activities are documented in sufficient detail and kept up to date
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA, AMF, AFM, MAS and any other relevant regulatory body.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
Skills and Experience
- A thorough understanding of Rates derivatives and Fixed Income products and markets, both in terms their valuation and their accounting representation
- An understanding of the essentials of hedge accounting requirements (some experience specifically in a hedge focussed role would be beneficial but not essential)
- ACA Qualified accountant (or equivalent)
- In depth understanding of product control processes, systems and frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and gravitas to interact with senior management and influence outcomes
- Proficient in MS Excel and use of GL systems (ideally PeopleSoft) and FO/BO systems
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
