The Operations Client Support department sits within the operations function, providing direct support to clients, front office and control & support areas within the organisation on a global basis. This role exists to provide a single point of escalation for all client and internal sales desk margin queries, ensuring all customer requests are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a primary escalation point for the Margins team (supervisory responsibilities), overseeing complex margin disputes, operational breaks, margin call management, and client‑impacting issues.
• Lead and mentor junior analysts, providing technical guidance, coaching, and structured development to strengthen product knowledge and analytical capability.
• Oversee daily margin operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of calls, payments, receipts, SSIs, and reconciliations in coordination with Treasury.
• Strengthen the control framework by reviewing KRIs, identifying process gaps, and driving remediation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Clearing Brokers and CCPs to resolve escalated issues, maintain account static (XTP/MarginLink), and enhance operational efficiency.
• Drive automation and process optimisation, reducing manual touchpoints and operational risk across the margin lifecycle.
• Represent the Margins function in cross‑functional forums, maintaining strong relationships with Credit, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, Deliveries, Broking, and Trading.
• Contribute to strategic projects, including MarginLink enhancements, regulatory change initiatives, and process redesign.
• Provide daily risk transparency, including participation in morning risk calls and updates on outstanding calls and liquidity impacts.
• Oversee fraud‑prevention controls, including daily monitoring of suspicious payment requests and escalation where required.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation, controls, and processes meet regulatory and internal standards.
• Conduct performance reviews, support succession planning, and promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and strong risk awareness.
• Ensure full compliance with FCA requirements, internal policies, and the firm’s operational risk framework, escalating breaches or risk events promptly.
• Support broader Operations functions (Deliveries, Client Services) as needed to ensure resilient end‑to‑end service delivery.
Skills & Experience:
• Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
• Good working knowledge of F&O Listed derivative exchanges
• Exposure to exchange fees and client commissions
• Previous Treasury experience beneficial
• Familiarity with margin call processing and methodology
