Role Summary
Marex Solutions is a division of Marex providing investment banking solutions with a fintech mindset. We aim to become the world’s leading manufacturer of cross asset, customised derivatives.
Supporting the Trade Origination Lead and COO to help drive improvement within existing processes and documentation, you will play a key role in helping to build the operational infrastructure to support the rapid growth of this business.
As a liaison between the Solutions business and Control and Support functions of the wider group, you will be one of the key contacts for both divisions. Working alongside the Trade Origination Lead, COO and Sales/Trading functions in delivering projects related to the initial creation, processing and automation of the solutions product offering, enabling the business to keep growing sustainably and integrating expansion opportunities when they arise.
As part of a team that is central to the business, you will be responsible for the following:
- Support the Hedging Solutions and Financial Products business for any new products created and ensure their efficient processing supported by the Trade Origination lead
- Trying to identify inefficiencies by reviewing existing processes and proposing enhancements
- Supporting the delivery of key strategic in-house built technology platforms as well as the roll out of third-party systems
- Supporting the development and standardisation of products within our new product repository
Role Responsibilities
The role will support the Trade Origination Lead in the following:
- Responsible for supporting the processing of any new products
- Gain an awareness of current state and future needs of key stakeholders
- Once a trade has been agreed by Sales and booked, the Trade Origination team is responsible for:
- Initial product check to ensure the product has been correctly set up in the respective systems and if not, escalating to the respective team leads
- Responsible to request rebooking or amendment set up were deemed necessary
- Assisting with the review of manually drafted trade recap/termsheet and coordinate any amendments with Sales and Trading
- Assisting the Trade Origination team in drafting manual pricing supplements/ OTC confirmations in coordination with Sales, Legal, Compliance, external law firms and trading
- Perform necessary additional process steps for structured product origination e.g., identifier application, listing, vendor setup, Swiss tax setup
- Constantly review manual structures together with the Structured Trade Review Team to agree on automation priorities
- Supporting the Trade Origination lead in spec data definition enhancements and establishing new payoff definitions and submit them to the development team
- Supporting the Trade Origination lead to spec out document enhancements with Tech, Legal and other involved stakeholders
- Support the OTC Confirmations process and the Documentation team to ensure timelines are adhered to and OTC confirmation are accurate against internal and external systems
- Support regulatory initiatives/projects with the subject matter experts together with Legal and Compliance
- Ensure the business is conducted in accordance with local and general regulatory rules
- Ensure that compliance and other compulsory trainings are up to date
- Cooperate closely with support teams and the business to complete tasks and projects on schedule and clearly communicate progress
- Promote innovation and work on idea generation
- Supporting the Trade Origination lead in the delivery of both strategic and tactical projects
- Ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes and proposing
- Helping to oversee daily operations and adjusting where necessary
Skills and Experience
A successful candidate will have:
- A degree level qualification or be studying towards a degree level qualification.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to discuss ideas and concepts with stakeholders of all levels.
- Self-motivated, confident, and resilient – able to strive within a profitability driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced Excel skills including VBA and Python skills would be preferable.
- Entrepreneurial and leadership skills will be highly considered.
