Role Summary
To control, reconcile & monitor all daily trades, positions & variation margin across all exchanges & 3rd party clearers. To monitor & resolve exchange & regulatory reporting requirements. To provide global support to clients and front office areas to help them tender physical products on the terminal market, whilst conducting risk management in the form of overnight and intraday margin-calls.
Department Description
The Control, Deliveries and Margin departments within Operations are responsible for maintaining correct books and records, orderly deliveries, efficient position management, and monitoring risk across our exchange traded derivatives business.
Overall Responsibilities
- T & T+1 Exchange position Maintenance – Manage daily close out & position transfers for all futures & options exchanges, including 3rd
party clearing broker exchanges. - T+1 Trade, Position & Variation Margin reconciliations for all futures & options exchanges, including 3rd party clearing broker exchanges.
- T+1 Daily problem resolution of trade breaks & corrections including allocating defaulted trades, client discrepancies & account changes.
- Notify internal departments & senior management of settlement price changes & significant P&L outages.
- Testing & implementation of all mandatory exchange upgrades into HelloZero reconciliation software.
- Testing & implementation of new exchanges & 3rd party clearers into HelloZero reconciliation software & downstream processes into the Treasury department.
- Daily management, surveillance & problem resolution of regulatory exchange position reporting.
- Efficient email management, including both personal & group mailboxes.
- Assist the Margins department with payment and receipt processing, whilst conducting general margin call management.
- Manage option expiries for European clients and execute client instructions (exercises/abandonments) on various Exchange terminals.
- Manage the delivery lifecycle of various physical asset classes, including but not limited to, Natural Gas and Power, Gasoil, Equities, Emissions, FX, Soft Commodities and Metals.
- Provide support to clients and the sales desk on delivery / operational / margin issues.

- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience
- A 2:1 degree or equivalent, coupled with a strong academic track record*.
- A recent graduate or final-year student.
- Demonstrates understanding of Futures & Options industry in areas including Reconciliation, Clearing, Position Maintenance & Regulatory Reporting.
- Problem solving skills; ability to resolve issues in a timely & efficient manner.
- Analytical mind set and methodical approach.
- To challenge the conventional and use various technical skills (SQL, Python, etc) to improve processes.
- Able to work on own initiative & be part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
