Purpose of Role:

Marex is seeking a Business Manager (US Treasury) who (in a newly defined role) will be a  part of a wider Treasury function within Marex Group. This individual will collaborate with colleagues across the front office, Finance, Risk and other areas to advance Treasury strategy, effectively communicate and carry out Treasury’s goals and objectives, and assist in the design and implementation of best in class processes, policies and procedures.

The Treasury team is for all aspects of treasury risk management including funding, liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, liquidity stress testing, and foreign exchange and interest rate risk management

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the US Treasurer to develop and implement strategy across the U.S. Treasury group.
  • Work with the U.S. Treasurer/Treasury group, both US and global, to help develop/enhance daily processes and reports to facilitate cash forecasting, stress testing, monitoring/managing liquidity risk across the entities.
  • Be familiar with upcoming or revised regulations to determine how they will impact the firm’s funding and liquidity.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and the Front Office businesses to ensure that stress test assumptions remain relevant and up to date.
  • Get involved in the BCAC process to ensure that any funding or liquidity issues related to new products or processes are resolved prior to implementation.
  • Assist with keeping policies current: e.g. general liquidity policy, contingency funding plan, cash investment policy, funds transfer pricing policy, etc.
  • U.S. Treasurer’s “right hand” in terms of new initiatives-new funding programs, collateral optimization initiatives, etc.
  • Help to devise solutions to challenges that Treasury faces.
  • Look to improve processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Get involved in automation projects.
  • Liaise with regulators, rating agencies and auditors in conjunction with the Treasurer and larger Treasury group.
  • Collaborate with Operational Risk on the RCSA.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting is strongly preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years’ of proven and relevant Treasury or related experience in the financial services industry, with specific focus on broker dealer and derivatives knowledge.
  • Business management, or similar experience in the financial services industry.
  • Strategic thinker able to anticipate and respond to changing firm priorities.
  • Must possess strong organization skills. Ability to manage short and longer term projects well.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as be an effective team member.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex issues succinctly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently effectively and efficiently.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and effective under pressure.
  • Attention to detail, highly numerate, analytical and very organized.
  • Possess “executive presence” when presenting to senior management, regulators, and other third parties, etc..

    Salary Range: $180,000 to $225,000 per year base salary and eligible for discretionary bonus.
