The Treasury Analyst supports the Treasury Manager in understanding, monitoring and active management and hedging of Liquidity, FX and Interest Rate risk in Marex Financial and across the wider Group as well as managing investment portfolio’s, associated hedging and optimisation of cash returns; maintaining and advancing the liquidity and interest rate risk monitoring and management frameworks in an environment of continuous business growth.

Responsibilities:
• Ensuring robust FX management, understanding drivers in currency movements, developing and executing appropriate hedging strategies to minimise FX risk and provide currency funding via FX Spot, Forwards and FX Swaps
• Trade executuion and management of Treasury investment portfolio’s including associated hedging. Contribute to the further development of Treasury investment portolio’s, driving overall returns and innovation of the range of products
• Treasury structural interest rate hedging. Continuous monitoring of Treasury interest rate positions and proactive hedging.
• Focus on short end investment optimisation, managing the net interest margin on the firms Liquid Resources and firm funding sources, within constraints.
• Build and maintain relationships with Risk, Finance & front office desks and gain commercial understanding of the relevant businesses and its operational processes and their impact on the wider balance sheet with respect to net interest income, Treasury interest rate and FX risk.
• Monitor Interest Rate, FX, Credit and commodities markets, economic data releases and newsflow. Providing economic commentary to the wider Treasury team with a focus on key markets giving rise to liquidity usage.
• In conjunction with the wider Treasury team co-ordinate the production of the monthly ALCO pack. Produce ALCO minutes.
• Work with the wider Treasury team to improve/automate treasury processes by analysing non/semi-automated processes and deliver improvements
• Assist in production of Treasury Ml for both internal and external audiences. Develop new Ml as required by Treasurer/ CEO/ CFO
• Ad hoc project work
• Work closely with the CASS team to ensure Treasury activity adheres to requirements.
• Assist in internal and external audit activities
• Support the Treasury Liquidity team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Marex Group’s liquidity risk framework; including daily monitoring, internal and regulatory stress testing and analytics, proactively driving continuous improvements.
• Support in the implementation and updating of the firm’s ICARA, taking ownership of key sub-sections, and implementation of IFPR rules
• Act as a back-up in supporting the production and analysis of regular Treasury markets MI including:
o Daily Liquidity Report (including Sources and Uses of liquidity, and stress testing MI) which is presented to the Morning Risk Meeting and used to monitor Group liquidity
o Other regular liquidity MI, including FX exposures, summary of cash held across the Group’s various relationship banks, estimate of intraday IM/VM changes at Exchanges
o Monthly summary of Treasury department’s performance against Risk Appetite metrics
o Cost Allocations to businesses
o Regulatory submissions
Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 2 years’ post-university work-experience in the finance sector, within Treasury or Risk and strong preference for prior deal execution experience
• Degree in Finance/Economics or related
• Proactive and innovative with outstanding analytic skills and the capability to drive initiatives to resolution
• Self-motivated, confident, and resilient – able to perform under pressure
• Excellent communication and co-ordination skills, ability to work with and communicate to senior management
• Strong Treasury and liquidity risk knowledge and experience ideally covering all or the bulk of the following products:
o IR Swaps and Futures
o FX Swaps
o FX Spot and Forwards
o Cash / Money Market Products
o Fixed Income Debt (Government, Agency / Supranationals, Covered Bonds, Investment Grade Corporate Credit
o Senior debt issuance
o Crypto Currency cash and futures
• Experience using front office deal input systems (Sophis preferred)
• Prior experience of using Bloomberg. Preference for experience using Tradweb, Markitwire and MarketAxess.
• Good understanding and application of CASS requirements
• Keen interest and understanding of macroeconomic data, Central Bank policy decisions and geo-politics with the ability to distill this and apply to Treasury ALM risk positions
• Willingness to embrace new developments in digital assets, apply this knowledge to Treasury activity and understand both the opportunities and the risks as these markets develop further
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Skills: Excel/VBA/Power BI/Python.
• Qualified / Part-qualified accountancy (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or other Financial qualification (e.g. CFA/ACT) preferred
• Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
As a Control Owner or Manager of a Control Owner you are expected to (where relevant):
• Be responsible for maintaining the internal control assigned to you in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
• Day-to-day implementation, monitoring, and verification of internal controls designed to mitigate financial reporting risks and ensure SOX compliance.
• Implement and Maintain Controls: This involves ensuring that internal controls are designed, documented, and implemented effectively to address identified financial reporting risks.
• Monitor and Test Controls: Regularly assess the effectiveness of controls through testing and monitoring to ensure they are operating as designed and remain effective over time.
• Assist with internal quarterly reporting as applicable.
• Duties include ensuring appropriate systems and controls are in place for reporting and compliance under SOX
