Department Description
The role of internal audit is to provide independent assurance that an organisation’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively.
The Internal Audit team is a global function with a presence in London, Paris and North America. The team currently consists of 20 individuals with additional support sought from our co source partners as required.
Role Summary
Support the Internal Audit Chief Operating Officer (COO) managing and enhancing the Internal Audit operating model under the direction of the Group Head of Internal Audit.
Overall Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the Internal Audit Operations team, with the annual planning process.
- Support Internal Audit Management to produce and distribute timely Internal Audit Management Information (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Support the COO in monitoring and tracking the delivery of the annual Audit plan.
- Contribute to the development of Internal Audit standards and procedures, staying up-to date with the relevant professional practice’s changes.
- Support the COO to promote the use of technology and integrating with Audit process i.e. use of Internal Audit analytics, AI.
- Operate and keep updated the electronic work paper and risk assessment tool for the Marex internal audit function.
- Facilitate the effective running of team meetings/events.
- Carrying out office management activities as required.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

- At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct/Marex’s Code of Conduct.
- To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
- To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.
- To escalate risk events immediately.
- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
