Purpose of Role:
Marex is seeking an experienced Full-stack Software Engineer specializing in both front-end and back-end development, expert in React or C# .NET, you will be a pivotal and leading member of our Capital Markets Software Development team, contributing to the creation and enhancement of secure, responsive web applications tailored for front-to-back trading technology.
Your coding expertise and your strong emphasis on quality will be instrumental in delivering robust and reliable applications. In this role, you will use your architectural and devOps experience to help mature our existing software and efficiently migrate and re-platform legacy systems to the cloud, using an automation-first approach and cloud native design patterns, working closely with the platform engineering team to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
You will collaborate closely with the Capital Markets application support team, ensuring new and existing systems are fully integrated into the operational ecosystem; logging, monitoring and observability. You will pro-actively manage the handover of support during build and re-platform, ensuring a seamless transfer at go-live.
You’ll proactively gain an understanding of the Capital Markets business, working closely and collaboratively with stakeholders, and ensuring that technical design and build is aligned to strategic objectives throughout all stages of delivery.

The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Reporting to the COO, Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile ‘streams’ aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design.
The Software Development function creates and maintains applications, frameworks and other software components to deliver to business requirements. Developers conceive, specify, design, engineer, document, test, and deliver bug fixes as needed to provide high quality software solutions. Each Development team is aligned to one of Marex’s business divisions and works with a corresponding Business Technology and Application Support team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and code across all proprietary applications and services that constitute the Capital Markets technology platform.
- Take accountability for the quality of deliverables, and assist the wider scrum team in taking accountability for theirs.
- Work with platform engineering to automate build and deploy of existing and new system.
- Work with application support to deliver production ready systems that are fully integrated into the operational ecosystem; logging, monitoring and observability.
- Support the strategic goals of Capital Markets development; greenfield initiatives, re-platforming and consolidating legacy systems, and adopting an automation-first approach to delivery and quality control.
- Act as an automated testing “champion” within the scrum team, working with SDETs to upskill developers and exploiting opportunities to automate quality control
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

- Engineering: C#, .Net Core, ASP.Net, SQL
- Tools / Technologies / Infra: Cloud/AWS, Windows Services, RabbitMQ, Bitbucket (Git), SQL/Server, Jira
- Design: API, HTTP/REST, JSON, micro-services and distributed systems
- SDLC: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, devOps, CI/CD, Automation First, BDD/TDD, DORA
Desirable:
- Engineering: React, JS/TS, HTML, CSS, Java, Vue, Angular, .Net, Winforms
- Tools / Technologies / Infra: NodeJS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Azure, GCP, NoSQL, DN
- Design: Serverless, cloud-native/PaaS, event driven, pub/sub, real-time/websockets, architectural design records (ADRs)
- Full end-to-end understanding of Capital Markets Trading Systems implementation, and the FIX protocol
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Salary Range: $150,000 to $220,000 per year and eligible for discretionary bonus.
