Role Summary
Marex Solutions is a division of Marex providing investment banking solutions with a fintech mindset. We aim to become the world’s leading manufacturer of cross-asset, customized derivatives.

We are looking for a Graduate Quantitative Researcher to join the Quantitative team in London. This role focuses on the research, development, and enhancement of systematic investment strategies and quantitative indices across asset classes. The successful candidate will contribute to the full strategy lifecycle, from idea generation and data analysis through backtesting, risk assessment, and implementation support.

This is a strong opportunity for a numerically minded graduate to apply quantitative techniques, statistical modelling, and programming skills to real market problems. The role offers close exposure to quants, traders, structurers, and technologists, with the chance to help build scalable analytics and research tooling that support the design and delivery of QIS solutions for clients.

Overall Responsibilities

As a Graduate, you will start by learning the fundamentals on the job and build your experience over time so that you can take on the following responsibilities:

  • Support the research and development of QIS strategies and quantitative indices under the guidance of senior quants, with a focus on robust methodology, scalability, and commercial relevance
  • Analyse market and alternative data to identify potential signals, test hypotheses, and evaluate the performance and stability of systematic strategy ideas across different market regimes
  • Build and maintain research prototypes, backtesting tools, and analytics to assess strategy behaviour, transaction costs, hedging considerations, and risk exposures
  • Document methodology, assumptions, results, and limitations clearly so that research outputs can be reviewed, challenged, and developed further by the wider team
  • Collaborate with Trading, Structuring, and Technology to help translate quantitative research into practical, implementable QIS solutions aligned with market constraints, client needs, and control standards
  • Maintain high coding and testing standards in research and prototype code, and contribute to the improvement of the team’s quantitative research infrastructure over time

    Essential Skills and Experience

    • 2:1 or above expected or achieved in Mathematics / Computer Science / Engineering degree or similar
    • MSc, MSc Equivalent or above
    • Experience / project applying math to finance (strategy or options)
    • Strong Python programming
    • IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Problem solving skills
    • Able to work as part of a team but also be self-motivated
    • Knowledge of working in a regulated environment and of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this
    • Knowledge of the underlying products at Marex within Solutions


    Desirable Skills and Experience

    • Machine Learning (coursework / work experience)
    • Knowledge of Derivatives / Options
    • Internship(s) or Placement(s) in Finance / Quant-related roles
    • Experience in production code and data pipelines
    • CI/CD
    • API development / AWS ECS
    • SQL / C++ / Rust
