Daniel describes his experience of life as a graduate at Marex.
I grew up in Chicago, and in 2025 I graduated from Miami University with a degree in Finance. Prior to joining Marex, I was the treasurer of a youth-run water skiing show, where I realized I enjoyed working with a team in a fast-paced environment.
At Marex, I started on the clearing team, which gave me valuable insight into the back end of the trade flow. I then transitioned to the Equities desk, where I gained exposure to trade execution and price discovery, allowing me to better understand front-office dynamics and market behavior. I am thrilled to be able to apply and build on the skills I have learned across these desks.
I am currently studying for the Series 7 exam.
I am a graduate trainee on the Equities desk in the XFA division at Marex.
My day starts at the market open, and as the day progresses, our customers provide us with a variety of orders to fill. We search for liquidity to find the best prices for our customers and work with other firms to carry out buy and sell transactions for or alongside them. No two days are alike, and I have had the opportunity to move around and learn from different desks while working on the variety of challenges that can arise on any given day.
My favorite thing about my role at Marex is the people. I really enjoy working with such an experienced team and am grateful for the opportunity to learn from them. The combination of a fast-paced environment and the depth of knowledge around me is what has made my experience at Marex so enjoyable. I am also drawn to how fast-paced the markets are, constantly presenting unique conditions and challenges. The energy of the trading floor reflects that pace, making the atmosphere especially exciting.
