Scaling prime brokerage and outsourced trading capabilities globally to meet growing client demand

October 7, 2025

Marex has significantly expanded its prime services team with ten new hires across the US, UK, Middle East and Asia, reinforcing its global commitment to delivering high-touch, multi-asset solutions for hedge funds, investment managers and family offices. The appointments span prime brokerage, outsourced trading and capital introduction, bringing deep expertise, insight and depth at a time of accelerating demand for Marex’s institutional-grade infrastructure and tailored solutions, particularly from emerging managers.

Notably, hires in Asia and the Middle East signal continued momentum across high growth regions. The appointments in Asia mark the first prime services team members in Singapore, whilst the hire in Dubai builds on the team’s recent expansion in the Middle East, and completes the outsourced trading team’s offering in the region with the ability to support managers across the entire lifecycle, from execution to fundraising.
“We are thrilled to welcome such a breadth of talent and institutional experience to our team, across all key geographies. With demand for our services and the broader offering of Marex globally continuing to grow, we have deepened our presence and proximity to clients across Asia and in the Middle East, and strengthened our teams in the US and the UK.”[/quote]

This global build-out comes amid significant shifts in the hedge fund and asset management landscape, where firms are increasingly looking for more strategic, responsive and globally connected partners to support them with infrastructure, execution and capital raising. By strengthening its prime brokerage and outsourced trading capabilities, Marex is providing clients with the scale, support and expertise needed to operate in increasingly complex and competitive markets.

Key market trends

The rise of specialist and mid-tier prime brokerage providers

While bulge-bracket banks continue to lead by volume, demand is growing for specialist and mid-tier primes that offer institutional-grade platforms with more personalised service. Managers, particularly those launching new strategies or operating across niche markets, are prioritising firms that combine robust infrastructure with flexibility, responsiveness and direct access to senior decision-makers.

Increasing reliance on capital introduction teams for fund growth

Managers are increasingly turning to prime broker cap intro teams for targeted fundraising support, well-informed introductions and cross-regional insight into allocator priorities. In fact, according toThe AIMA Marex Emerging Manager Survey, sponsored by Marex, nearly a quarter of investors now rely on this external expertise to discover new managers, second only to personal networks.

Outsourced trading becoming a mainstream solution

Adoption has grown rapidly as firms seek greater operational efficiency, cost control and access to specialised talent. Asset managers of all sizes are using outsourced desks to support regional expansion, overnight coverage or asset-class-specific execution, without the burden of building the capability internally.

Global momentum: APAC and MENA leading the way

While North America and Europe remain mature markets, the strongest momentum is in Asia and the Middle East. The APAC asset management sector is projected to grow at a 30.2% CAGR to 2030, with MENA following at 23.9% CAGR over the same period. This is prompting more managers to enter new markets, and reinforces the need for prime partners with on-the-ground presence, multi-asset capabilities and allocator networks to support expansion.

“The trends we are seeing – a shift towards mid-tier prime brokers, greater allocator selectivity and increasing adoption of outsourced trading – play to our strengths. By expanding our prime services team globally, we are ideally positioned to provide clients with the high-touch support, local insight and institutional-grade infrastructure they need to achieve their growth ambitions, wherever they are based.”
