Tell us a bit about your background:
I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2016, having studied Geography for 3 years. I obtained several years’ worth of experience in Finance following university and thereafter joined Marex as an Equities Market Maker in 2020. Outside of work I am a keen sportsman with interest in rugby and tennis.

Describe a typical day in your role:
As an equity market maker for a member firm, I elect to register as a market maker in numerous securities listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), whilst also meeting the obligations that are associated and set by the LSE. My daily function/requirement is to actively quote, by providing bids and offers along with market size. In order to do this, I had to become an approved person under FCA regulations having completed Level 3 CISI qualifications. The role also involves a great amount of time developing and maintaining client relationships.

What is your favourite thing about your role?
The amount of knowledge gained from learning about all kinds of listed companies. Moreover, the continued relationships gained market wide whilst also being part of a driven team.
